Directions
1
Add 1 1/4 cups of warm milk (no more than 110 degrees) into a large mixing bowl.
2
Add 1/3 of a cup of granulated sugar to the milk.
3
Add 2 1/4 teaspoons (or one packet) of yeast to the milk and sugar mixture.
4
Stir the mixture briefly.
5
Let the mixture sit for 5 to 10 minutes until the yeast becomes foamy.
6
Add 1/2 stick (1/4 cup) of melted butter to the foamy yeast mixture.
7
Add one room temperature egg to the mixture.
8
Mix everything together.
9
Add one teaspoon of salt to the mixture.
10
Add 3 1/2 cups of bread flour to the bowl.
11
Mix all ingredients until a shaggy dough forms.
12
Turn the dough out onto a clean, floured surface.
13
Lightly flour your hands.
14
Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until it forms a nice, smooth, and stretchy ball.
15
Spray a clean bowl with oil.
16
Place the dough into the oiled bowl, swirling it around to coat, then flip it over.
17
Cover the bowl lightly with plastic wrap or a towel.
18
Let the dough rise until it doubles in size, approximately an hour.
19
While the dough is rising, prepare the cinnamon butter by adding two sticks of softened salted butter to a clean bowl.
20
Whip the butter until it is light and fluffy and a pale yellow color.
21
Add 1/3 of a cup of powdered sugar to the whipped butter.
22
Add 1/4 cup of honey to the butter mixture.
23
Add two teaspoons of cinnamon to the butter mixture.
24
Whip all the butter ingredients together until well combined and light brown.
25
Grease a cookie sheet with the saved butter wrappers.
26
Gently push the risen dough down in the center.
27
Take the dough out of the bowl and press it into a rectangle about a quarter of an inch thick on your clean surface.
28
Cut the dough into equal pieces using a pizza cutter.
29
Place the cut dough pieces onto the greased cookie sheet, leaving space for them to rise.
30
Cover the dough pieces with a towel.
31
Let them rise for another 30 minutes while the oven preheats to 350 degrees Fahrenheit, or until they become puffy again.
32
Bake the risen rolls in the oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for about 12 minutes.
33
Once out of the oven, brush the rolls with some melted butter.
34
Serve the rolls warm with the prepared cinnamon butter.
