Mutton Biryani

Directions

  1. 1Cut open the bag of Basmati Rice.
  2. 2Pour 1kg of Basmati Rice into a bowl.
  3. 3Add water to the rice and wash it.
  4. 4Add oil to a pot.
  5. 5Add whole spices to the hot oil.
  6. 6Stir the whole spices.
  7. 7Add water to the pot.
  8. 8Add lime juice to the water.
  9. 9Strain the washed rice and add it to the boiling water with spices.
  10. 10Cover the pot with a lid.
  11. 11Stir the rice gently after it's cooked.
  12. 12Place mutton pieces in a bowl.
  13. 13Add salt to the mutton.
  14. 14Add ginger, garlic, and green chilli paste to the mutton.
  15. 15Add coriander powder to the mutton.
  16. 16Add fried onion and chopped coriander leaves to the mutton.
  17. 17Pour curd over the ingredients in the bowl.
  18. 18Mix all the ingredients with the mutton by hand, ensuring it's well coated.
  19. 19Transfer the marinated mutton to a pressure cooker.
  20. 20Stir the mutton in the pressure cooker.
  21. 21Close the pressure cooker with its lid.
  22. 22Transfer the cooked mutton curry to a large pot.
  23. 23Layer the cooked rice over the mutton curry using a strainer.
  24. 24Spread the rice evenly over the mutton.
  25. 25Pour milk mixed with turmeric powder over the rice.
  26. 26Sprinkle chopped coriander and mint leaves over the rice.
  27. 27Add cashews and raisins on top of the rice layer.
  28. 28Garnish with more fried onion.
  29. 29Drizzle ghee over the layers.
  30. 30Cover the pot and allow the biryani to dum cook.
  31. 31Gently mix the biryani before serving.
  32. 32Serve the Mutton Biryani in a bowl and garnish with a mint leaf.
