Tirokroketes (Greek Fried Cheese Balls)

Directions

  1. 1In a bowl, add the grated cheeses and crumbled feta, along with the self-raising flour, egg, milk and black pepper. Mix until it’s well combined.
  2. 2Take about a tablespoon of the mixture and roll into a ball, and repeat with the rest of the mixture.
  3. 3In a separate bowl, place the plain flour. Coat each ball in the flour and set aside.
  4. 4In a frying pan, heat up the vegetable oil.
  5. 5You’ll know if the oil is hot enough by dipping a wooden spoon and seeing bubbles around it.
  6. 6Fry the balls for 2-3 minutes on both sides until golden.
  7. 7Place on a plate with kitchen roll to drain the excess oil and enjoy whilst hot.

  • 65 g cheddar cheese, grated
  • 65 g Gruyere cheese, grated
  • 130 g feta, crumbled
  • 1 egg
  • 30 g self-raising flour
  • 1 dash milk
  • 1 dash Crushed black pepper
  • 30 g plain flour
  • 1 dash Veg oil for frying
