Directions

  1. 1Score the duck’s skin in a crosshatch pattern.
  2. 2Make your marinade by adding all ingredients to a bowl, and whisk until smooth.
  3. 3Place the duck breasts in a ziploc bag, and pour over the marinade.
  4. 4Place in the refrigerator overnight.
  5. 5Take the duck out, and pat dry with a paper towel. Pour the excess marinade into a bowl, and add the honey and hot water.
  6. 6Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
  7. 7To a cold pan add the duck breasts, skin-side down. Turn the heat to medium. Cook the duck for about 10 minutes.
  8. 8Place on a wire rack, and place in the oven for 10 minutes. Brush with the marinade every 5 minutes.
  9. 9Turn on the broiler, flip the duck breasts, and broil for about 3 minutes.
  10. 10Take out, and let rest for 10 minutes.
  11. 11Thinly slice the duck, and serve over rice.

  • 1 Big Pinch Salt
  • 0.5 tsp MSG
  • 0.5 tsp Five Spice Powder
  • 0.25 tsp White Pepper
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 T Molasses
  • 1 T Shaoxing Rice Wine
  • 1 tsp Sesame Oil
  • 1 T Hoisin Sauce
  • 1 T Oyster Sauce
  • 2 T Honey
  • 1 T Hot Water
  • 0 Rice
