Add butter to a saucepan and turn it on medium heat until melted.

Add in sweetened condensed milk and coconut flakes.

Stir on medium heat for 5-7 minutes until the mixture is thickened and can pull away from the pan.

Add the mixture into a separate bowl, cover it, and place it in the refrigerator until cooled.

Once cooled, take about a tablespoon of the mixture, roll it between greased hands to form a ball, and place it onto a parchment-lined pan.

Repeat until all of the mixture is formed into bite-sized balls.

In a separate saucepan, combine granulated sugar, water, and vinegar.

Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally, until it turns amber in color.

Take the sugar coating off the heat.

Insert a toothpick into each coconut ball and dip it quickly into the amber sugar, swirling it around.

Place the coated balls back onto a parchment-lined pan.

Let cool and serve.
