Directions

  1. 1Preheat oven to 325°F.
  2. 2Lightly grease a 9x13 baking dish.
  3. 3Cut chicken into bite-sized pieces and season with salt and pepper.
  4. 4Add cornstarch to a zip-top bag, toss in chicken, and shake to coat.
  5. 5Dip chicken pieces into beaten eggs.
  6. 6Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and brown chicken in batches (it will finish cooking in the oven).
  7. 7Transfer chicken to prepared baking dish.
  8. 8Whisk together all sauce ingredients (sugar, vinegar, ketchup, soy sauce, garlic) in a measuring cup.
  9. 9Pour sauce evenly over chicken.
  10. 10Bake for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes so the sauce thickens and coats the chicken.

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 Tbsp ketchup
  • 0.25 cup white vinegar
  • 0.25 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic salt
