Add 1 tablespoon of salted butter to a saucepan and turn it on medium heat until melted.
Add 1 can of sweetened condensed milk and 2/3 cup of sweetened coconut flakes to the saucepan.
Cook on medium heat for about 5-7 minutes, stirring until the mixture is thickened and pulls away from the pan.
Take the mixture off the heat, put it in a separate bowl, cover it, and place it in the refrigerator until cooled.
Once cooled, take about a tablespoon of the mixture, roll it between greased hands to form bite-sized balls, and place them onto a parchment-lined pan.
In a separate saucepan, combine 1 cup of granulated sugar, 1/2 cup of water, and 1 tablespoon of vinegar.
Bring the sugar mixture to a boil, stirring occasionally, until it turns amber in color. Then, take it off the heat.
Insert a toothpick into each ball and quickly dip it into the amber sugar, swirling it around.
Place the sugar-coated balls back onto the parchment-lined pan to cool.
