Tear a bread in half.

Add warm milk, sugar and the yeast into a large bowl and whisk.

Add flour, remaining sugar, salt, egg, and butter.

Mix all ingredients.

Drizzle some oil over the dough, then turn the dough in the bowl to coat in oil.

Cover bowl with plastic wrap/kitchen towel and place in a warm area of kitchen for 60-90 min or until the dough has doubled in size.

Punch down risen dough and let it sit for 5 min before cutting into (8) equal pieces.

Roll out each piece of dough into a 5x4 inch rectangle and then roll into a log shape.

Place logs in a greased 9x9 inch baking pan and cover with plastic wrap/kitchen towel.

Set side to rise, 25-30 min.

Brush rolls with egg wash and sprinkle top with sesame seeds.

Bake for 25-30 min or until a toothpick inserted into one of the rolls comes out clean.

Brush honey butter over warm rolls before serving.

Cut the rolls in half, melt butter in a skillet over medium heat and toast the rolls on both sides until golden brown.

3 cups all purpose flour
2 tbsp sugar
1.5 tsp active dry yeast
1 tsp salt
1 large egg
0.75 cup warm milk (105-110F)
5 tbsp unsalted butter
1 tsp neutral flavored oil
1 large egg
1 tsp water
sesame seeds
2 tbsp unsalted butter, cut into cubes
1 tbsp honey
pinch salt
2 tbsp unsalted butter

Tips
Mix warm milk, sugar and yeast.
Mix in flour, remaining sugar, salt, egg, and butter until a soft dough forms.
Knead the dough in the bowl or on a floured surface for 5-6 min.
Drizzle some oil over the dough.
Turn the dough in the bowl to coat in oil.
Cover bowl with plastic wrap/kitchen towel and place in a warm area of kitchen for 60-90 min or until the dough has doubled in size.

In a small saucepan, add the butter, honey and salt. Cook mixture while stirring until all the butter is melted. Remove from heat.
Brush honey butter over warm rolls before serving.
To serve toasted, cut the rolls in half.
Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat.
In batches, toast the rolls on both sides until golden brown.
Serve rolls as is or with raising canes sauce.
