Directions

  1. 1Add 1 cup of cake flour to a mixing bowl.
  2. 2Add 1 cup of granulated sugar to the mixing bowl.
  3. 3Add 1 cup of whole milk to the mixing bowl.
  4. 4Add 1 teaspoon of baking powder to the mixing bowl.
  5. 5Whisk the ingredients until beautifully combined.
  6. 6Pick up the bowl and set it aside.
  7. 7Get a 2.5-quart baking dish, preferably vintage.
  8. 8Pour 1/4 cup of melted salted butter into the bottom of the baking dish.
  9. 9Bring the bowl with the batter back and pour the contents right on top of the butter, do not stir it.
  10. 10Add 21 ounces of cherry pie filling, pouring it in willy-nilly.
  11. 11Take the whole thing and put it in the oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for about 45 minutes.
  12. 12Let it cool for 10 minutes.
  13. 13Once it's cooled off, grab a spatula and put a piece of this on a plate.
  14. 14Grab a fork, scoop up a big old bite of cherry goodness and put the whole thing in your mouth.
