Directions

  1. 1Add 3 pounds of 93/7 ground sirloin to a pot.
  2. 2Pour in enough beef broth to cover the top of the meat.
  3. 3Add 2 tablespoons of chili powder.
  4. 4Add 1 tablespoon of black pepper.
  5. 5Add 1 teaspoon of ground cumin.
  6. 6Add 1 and a half tablespoons of garlic powder.
  7. 7Add 1 tablespoon of onion powder.
  8. 8Add 1 tablespoon of smoked paprika.
  9. 9Add a teaspoon of salt.
  10. 10Break up the meat thoroughly.
  11. 11Add one diced onion.
  12. 12Add two large diced jalapeños (or bell peppers if preferred).
  13. 13Add one 10.5-ounce can of puréed Rotel.
  14. 14Mix everything in well and bring it back up to a simmer for 30 more minutes.
  15. 15After 30 minutes, ensure the meat is broken up really well.
  16. 16Add 2 teaspoons of cornstarch dissolved in a quarter cup of water.
  17. 17Stir that in good and let simmer for 5 more minutes.
  18. 18The taco meat is ready to be served on tacos or burritos.
