Directions
1
Take a whole head of cabbage, make sure it's nice and squeaky clean.
2
Cut the cabbage into wedge pieces (quarters and then in half again).
3
Massage the cabbage with some oil and season it before adding it to a smoking hot cast iron skillet, or season it directly in the cast iron skillet.
4
Cook the cabbage for about 5 minutes on each side until it gets a nice char.
5
Remove the cabbage from the pan.
6
Add some butter to the pan.
7
Cook down thinly sliced onions for about 3 minutes.
8
Add flour and cook it out for about 2 minutes to remove the raw taste.
9
Add heavy cream and chicken broth to make the creamy sauce.
10
Add some grated Parmesan and mix everything together.
11
Allow the sauce to simmer on low until it covers the back of a spoon and is nice and thick.
12
Add the cabbage back into the sauce.
13
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
14
Smother the cabbage in the creamy sauce.
15
Cover the cabbage with foil.
16
Pop it in the oven to continue to cook for about 10 to 15 minutes.
