Caramel Apple Cupcakes
Directions
- 1Peel and dice two apples.
- 2Put the diced apples in a bowl.
- 3Add 4 tablespoons of brown sugar and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon to the apples.
- 4Mix the apples, brown sugar, and cinnamon together.
- 5Add 1 tablespoon of butter to a pan.
- 6Add the apple mixture to the pan.
- 7Sauté the apples for about 5 to 7 minutes.
- 8Take the apples off the heat and let them cool.
- 9Place 2 sticks of salted butter in a pan and turn on high heat to brown.
- 10When the butter turns brown, take it off the heat and put it in the fridge along with the apples to cool and set.
- 11In a mixer, combine 1/2 cup of unsalted butter and 1 cup of sugar.
- 12Add 2 eggs and 1 teaspoon of vanilla to the mixture.
- 13Mix until well combined.
- 14Add 1/2 cup of milk to the mixture.
- 15Add 1 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, and 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg.
- 16Mix all the ingredients together.
- 17Pour the batter into a cupcake tin lined with cupcake wrappers, filling each 3/4ths full.
- 18Bake the cupcakes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 20 to 25 minutes.
- 19Add the cooled browned butter to a mixing bowl.
- 20Add 3 to 4 cups of powdered sugar and 1 teaspoon of vanilla to the browned butter.
- 21Mix the icing ingredients together.
- 22Add milk gradually until the icing reaches the correct consistency.
- 23Pipe the icing onto the cooled cupcakes, creating a small hole in the center.
- 24Add the cold apple mixture into the center of the iced cupcakes.
- 25Drizzle caramel sauce over the topped cupcakes.
