Asian Shrimp Burgers

Directions

  1. 1Add shrimp to a food processor and roughly chop until a little paste forms and you still have some nice chunks of shrimp.
  2. 2Remove from the processor and add to a mixing bowl with the remaining ingredients.
  3. 3Mix well, shape into burger patties, and place on a baking tray in the refrigerator for 15 minutes to set up.
  4. 4Mix everything for the sesame peach slaw.
  5. 5Add avocado oil to a pan over medium heat, and sear shrimp burgers on each side for 1 minute until caramelized.
  6. 6Add 1/4 cup water to the pan, place a lid on, and steam shrimp burgers for 2 minutes, flip, and repeat until the shrimp are fully cooked!
  7. 7Baste shrimp burgers with butter.
  8. 8Pile shrimp burgers on your toasted bun with lots of spicy ponzu mayo & peach slaw!

  • 1 pound wild caught shrimp, peeled & deveined
  • 1 tbsp ginger, minced
  • 1 tbsp garlic minced
  • 1 tsp Thai chili powder
  • 0.25 cup chopped scallion
  • 2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp white pepper
  • cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • avocado oil
  • 2 buns
  • 0.5 cup Kewpie Mayo
  • 2 tbsp ponzu sauce
  • 2 tbsp sriracha
  • 1 cup red cabbage, finely shredded
  • 1 cup green cabbage, finely shredded
  • 1 cup sweet summer peaches, sliced
  • 0.5 cup chopped cilantro
  • 1 lime zest & juice
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 tbsp toasted sesame seeds
  • 0.25 cup honey
  • pinch salt & pepper
  • butter
