Directions

  1. 1In a bowl, mix together warm milk, white sugar, and yeast. Whisk well and let sit for 5 minutes.
  2. 2Add melted butter, egg, and salt to the mixture.
  3. 3Add all purpose flour and mix with an electric mixer until dough forms.
  4. 4Knead dough by hand for a couple of minutes to make it soft.
  5. 5Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for an hour and a half or until doubled in size.
  6. 6Roll out the dough into a rectangle.
  7. 7Spread softened butter evenly over the dough.
  8. 8Sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon over the buttered dough.
  9. 9Using a pizza cutter, cut the dough into strips.
  10. 10Roll the strips into cinnamon buns and place them in a buttered casserole dish. Let them sit for half an hour while preheating the oven to 350 degrees.
  11. 11Add heavy cream to the top of the cinnamon buns (optional).
  12. 12Bake for 25 minutes at 350 degrees.
  13. 13Prepare a glaze by mixing together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla. Pour over the baked cinnamon buns.

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 splash vanilla
