Yes. Paste the TikTok link into Clip Recipe (cliprecipe.com) and you get a written recipe back: ingredients, numbered steps, servings and cooking times, usually in about 15 seconds. Clip Recipe reads the audio, the footage and the text on screen, so it works when the recipe is only spoken or shown and never written in the caption. Other apps that do this are Cut Recipe, ReciMe, MealClip, Clip To Cook, Pestle and Deglaze. They are compared below.
How to get a recipe from a TikTok video with Clip Recipe
- In TikTok, tap Share, then Copy link. Videos, slideshows and photo-mode posts all work.
- Open cliprecipe.com in any browser, on your phone or your computer, and paste the link.
- Press Extract recipe.
- Read the recipe: the ingredient list with quantities, the numbered steps, servings, times, equipment and tips.
The recipe is saved to My recipes. You can edit it, change the servings and have the quantities recalculate, translate it, share it, or export it to PDF, plain text, Markdown, Paprika, Evernote or Apple Notes.
A few rules apply. The post must be public. Videos can be up to one hour. For videos longer than ten minutes, Clip Recipe uses the captions, description and comments instead of watching the video. If one video teaches several dishes, each dish becomes its own recipe, and the video still counts as one extraction.
Clip Recipe is a website, not an App Store app. On a phone, open it in the browser and use Add to Home Screen to get an icon. There are two other ways in:
- ChatGPT. Add the Clip Recipe app in ChatGPT and paste the TikTok link in the chat. An account without a plan gets 5 free extractions a month there. How it works.
- Chrome. The Clip Recipe Chrome extension extracts the recipe from the page you have open, in a side panel. It is for desktop Chrome and uses your Clip Recipe plan.
Price: a free 7-day trial with unlimited recipes (one per account, card required), then $3.95 a month or $39.50 a year for Resident Chef. In ChatGPT, an account with no plan gets 5 free recipes a month. Master Chef is $149 once, for life. See the plans.

1. Clip Recipe
A website that turns TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook and Pinterest videos, and recipe web pages, into written recipes. It reads the audio, the footage and the on-screen text, so a silent video with no written recipe can still work. It splits a video with several dishes into separate recipes. It is also available as a ChatGPT app and a Chrome extension. Free for 7 days, then $3.95 a month.
2. Cut Recipe
A free web tool at cutrecipe.com, with no sign-up. For TikTok it reads the video caption and falls back to the subtitle track. It also takes YouTube, Instagram, recipe websites and pasted text. It is a good free choice when the creator wrote the recipe in the caption. Its site does not say it reads on-screen text or the footage.
3. ReciMe
A recipe organizer for iPhone, Android and the web, with a Chrome extension. You share a TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest or YouTube post to the app. Its help center says it reads the caption first, and if there is no caption it tries the video's audio. The free version allows 5 recipe imports a week. ReciMe Plus removes the limit and starts with a 7-day free trial; the App Store lists Plus purchases from $29.99 to $59.99. It also does meal plans and grocery lists.
4. MealClip
A website at mealclip.com for YouTube, Instagram Reels and TikTok. It says the steps come from the video transcript. Getting a recipe from a video needs Premium from the first one, with no free trial: $2.99 a month for 15 recipes, or $19.99 a year for unlimited. Reading recipes already on MealClip is free.
5. Clip To Cook
An iPhone app. Its site says an Android version is in the works. You share a video from YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Pinterest or a website, and it returns ingredients, quantities, steps and cook time. It is free, with up to 10 recipes from links a day, and the App Store lists no in-app purchases. Its site does not say whether it uses the caption, the audio or the footage.
6. Pestle
A recipe manager for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch. You share a TikTok to Pestle from the share sheet. When TikTok support launched in 2024, TechCrunch reported that it reads the video caption, with on-device processing. The app is free to download; Pestle Pro costs $2.99 a month, $24.99 a year, or a one-time lifetime price, per the App Store.
7. Deglaze
A recipe app for iPhone and Android. Its TikTok guide says it combines the caption, a transcript of the narration, the on-screen text and what happens in the scenes. The free plan has a limited number of imports a week. Deglaze Pro removes the limit and adds meal planning, grocery lists and scaling; the App Store lists it at $49.99, with a free trial for new users.
Which one should you use?
- The recipe is only spoken or shown in the video: use an app that reads more than the caption. Clip Recipe and Deglaze both read the audio and the on-screen text.
- You want to pay nothing and the recipe is in the caption: Cut Recipe is free with no account.
- You do not want to install an app: Clip Recipe runs in any browser, and in ChatGPT with 5 free extractions a month.
- You want meal plans and grocery lists in a phone app: ReciMe, Deglaze or Pestle.
- You have an iPhone and want a free app: Clip To Cook.
FAQ
Can ChatGPT get a recipe from a TikTok video?
Yes, with the Clip Recipe app in ChatGPT. Add the app, connect your Clip Recipe account, and paste the TikTok link in the chat. ChatGPT shows the written recipe and saves it to your Clip Recipe library. Accounts without a plan get 5 free extractions a month in ChatGPT.
What if the recipe is not in the TikTok caption?
Use an app that reads the video itself. Clip Recipe looks at the audio, the footage and the text on screen, so a video with no voiceover and no written recipe can still be converted. Apps that read only the caption will miss it.
Is there a free way to turn a TikTok into a recipe?
Yes. Cut Recipe is free when the recipe is in the caption. Clip To Cook is free on iPhone, up to 10 a day. ReciMe allows 5 imports a week for free. Clip Recipe gives 5 free extractions a month in ChatGPT, and a 7-day free trial on the website.
Does it work with TikTok slideshows and photo posts?
In Clip Recipe, yes. It reads regular videos, slideshows and photo-mode posts, including recipes written on the images.
