Sweet and Spicy Beef Jerky
Directions
- 1Trim excess fat from 10 pounds of beef top round.
- 2Season each piece of beef with pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- 3Refrigerate the seasoned beef for four to eight hours.
- 4Combine orange juice, grapefruit juice, soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, liquid smoke, and brown sugar in a measuring cup.
- 5Blend a small portion of the marinade with habanero peppers and crushed red pepper until smooth.
- 6Pour the blended mixture into the rest of the marinade and mix well.
- 7Pour the marinade over the seasoned beef, massaging it in evenly.
- 8Store the marinated beef in the refrigerator for 24 hours.
- 9Sprinkle crushed red pepper on top of the beef before placing on dehydrator trays.
- 10Dehydrate the beef at 160 degrees Fahrenheit for four to eight hours, depending on the dehydrator.
- 11Cut into smaller pieces for easy snacking.
