Homemade dishwasher pods

Directions

  1. 1Mix the baking soda and citric acid together.
  2. 2Slowly stir in the Castile soap until the mixture feels like damp sand and holds its shape when you squeeze it in your hand.
  3. 3Press the mixture firmly into 1-tablespoon silicone molds, leaving a little room at the top.
  4. 4Let them dry for 24 hours, then pop them out and store them in an airtight container.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup baking soda
  • 1/4 cup citric acid
  • 2 tbsp liquid castile soap

Tips

  • If the mixture crumbles apart, add just a tiny bit more Castile soap.
  • The pods will puff up slightly as they dry, which is why you should leave room at the top of the molds.
  • Use 1 pod per dishwasher load.
  • Store in an airtight glass jar in a cool, dry place to keep moisture out.
