Directions

  1. 1To 3 gallons of water, add 3 cups of alfalfa pellets for nitrogen and other plant stimulants.
  2. 2Add 1 cup of organic coffee for more nitrogen and to help balance the acidity.
  3. 3Add 1 cup of kelp meal for potassium and plant hormones for growth and stress tolerance.
  4. 4Add 3 cups of worm castings to introduce beneficial bacteria, microbes, and enzymes.
  5. 5Add 6 tablespoons of bone meal for calcium and phosphorus, which is great for the roots and for the fruits.
  6. 6Add 6 tablespoons of rock dust for silica and trace minerals like iron, zinc, and manganese.
  7. 7Add 1 tablespoon of Epsom salt for sulfur.
  8. 8Add 3 tablespoons of cow mag for extra calcium and magnesium.
  9. 9Add 6 tablespoons of fish emulsion for a faster acting nitrogen while the alfalfa and the coffee break down.
  10. 10Add 6 tablespoons of unsulfured molasses to feed the microbes from the worm castings, enabling them to break down ingredients more efficiently.
  11. 11Mix this well.
  12. 12Place the mixture somewhere ventilated, but also covered and out of the rain, such as a data center.
  13. 13Wait four days for the mixture to ferment; it will look stinky when ready.
  14. 14Strain this mixture into a larger container or tub.
  15. 15Dilute the mixture on a 5:10 to 1 ratio (the video uses a 7:1 ratio).
  16. 16For 3 gallons of fertilizer, add 21 gallons of water.
  17. 17To easily measure water, time how long it takes to fill a gallon jug from your hose and then calculate the total time needed for 21 gallons.
  18. 18Once diluted, the fertilizer is ready to use.

Tips

  • Place the mixture in a ventilated, covered area, out of the rain.
  • The mixture is ready when it looks stinky and has fermented for four days.
  • Dilute the mixture with water at a 5:1 to 10:1 ratio. The video recommends a 7:1 ratio.
  • This is a strong formula; feed plants once every three weeks.
  • To make a single gallon of fertilizer, divide all ingredient quantities by three.
