Simple Shampoo Bar

Directions

  1. 1Cut the melt and pour soap base into small hunks.
  2. 2Put the soap base into a double boiler to melt.
  3. 3Add shea butter to the melting soap base.
  4. 4Add olive oil to the mixture.
  5. 5Add about five drops of vitamin E oil.
  6. 6Add 25 to 50 drops of essential oil for 1 lb of soap base.
  7. 7Stir everything well to combine.
  8. 8Pour the mixture into molds.
  9. 9Let the shampoo bars harden for a few hours until completely solid.
  10. 10Pop the hardened shampoo bars out of the molds.

  • 2 tbsp shea butter
  • 2 tsp olive oil
  • 5 drops vitamin E oil
  • 25 to 50 drops essential oil

Tips

  • Glycerin soap base is good for shampoo because it suds up well.
  • Shea butter is very moisturizing for hair.
  • Vitamin E oil is good for hair and scalp.
  • Lavender, rosemary, sandalwood, peppermint, and bergamot are good essential oils for hair.
  • Store extra shampoo bars in an airtight container out of direct sunlight for up to a year.
  • To use, wet the bar in your hand, massage to lather, then apply to hair and rinse.
