5h 1m
Serves 1

Directions

  1. 1Place the meat in the freezer to firm it up, making it easier to cut.
  2. 2Combine equal parts Jack Daniel's and Coca-Cola in a saucepan.
  3. 3Slice jalapeños and add them to the saucepan.
  4. 4Add salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder to the mixture, bring to a simmer, and cook until the volume is reduced by half.
  5. 5Remove the fat from the beef and cut it into quarter-inch slices.
  6. 6Place the beef slices in a container or Ziploc bag, pour the cooled marinade over, and let it marinate overnight.
  7. 7Lay the beef on a wire rack and cook in a smoker under 200 degrees indirect heat until done.
  8. 8Place the jerky into a Ziploc bag to steam for a minute before serving.
