Directions

  1. 1Blitz the onion, carrot, celery and garlic in a food processor.
  2. 2Add contents of food processor to a pot and add olive oil, meat, seasonings and spices.
  3. 3Brown the meat.
  4. 4Puree the Italian tomatoes with an immersion blender or crush by hand.
  5. 5Add the tomatoes to the pot.
  6. 6Bring to a boil and simmer for 90 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 750 g ground beef
  • 1 whole spanish onion
  • 1 large carrot
  • 2 whole celery stalk
  • 3 whole clove garlic
  • 1 tbsp fine sea salt
  • 2 tsp dried basil
  • 2 whole bay leaf
  • 1 100oz can italian peeled tomatoes
  • null olive oil

Equipment

food processorpotimmersion blender

Tips

  • You can use a mix of your preferred ground meats instead of just ground beef.
  • Chop finely by hand if you don't have a food processor.
