Shea Butter Lotion

Directions

  1. 1Set up a double boiler by putting a glass bowl over a pot of boiling water.
  2. 2Add 3/4 cups of shea butter to the glass bowl.
  3. 3Add 1/4 cup of regular coconut oil to the glass bowl.
  4. 4Turn the double boiler on medium to high heat and allow the ingredients to melt.
  5. 5Once melted, remove the bowl from the heat and set it in the freezer for about 20 minutes until it is firm but not solid.
  6. 6Add about 10 drops of Vitamin E oil to the cooled mixture.
  7. 7Add about 10 drops of lavender essential oil to the mixture.
  8. 8Sprinkle in about 1-2 tablespoons of arrowroot powder, a little bit at a time.
  9. 9Whip the mixture with a handheld mixer until it achieves a light, whipped texture.
  10. 10Store the finished lotion in an airtight mason jar.

  • 1 tablespoon arrowroot powder

Tips
