Rosemary Indigo Sea Salt Soap

Directions

  1. 1Weigh out 770g of coconut oil and add it to a pot.
  2. 2Add 85g of cocoa butter to the pot with the coconut oil.
  3. 3Weigh out 240g of filtered water in a measuring cup.
  4. 4Add 120g of sodium hydroxide to the filtered water and whisk it.
  5. 5Melt the oils and let them cool for a while.
  6. 6Add natural indigo powder to the melted oils and disperse it straight into the oil using an immersion blender.
  7. 7Add the lye water solution to the oils and mix until it starts to thicken slightly.
  8. 8Add 30g of rosemary essential oil to the mixture and continue mixing.
  9. 9Add 437g of sea salt to the soap mixture and mix until completely incorporated.
  10. 10Pour the soap mixture into a mold.
  11. 11Let the soap sit in the mold for about 2 to 3 hours until it can be easily removed.
  12. 12Cut the soap into individual bars.
  13. 13Cure the soap bars for about a month.

Tips

  • Use a digital scale for accurate measurements.
  • Natural indigo powder disperses well in oil.
  • Do not miss the window to cut your sea salts up or it will get too hard and start to crumble.
