Natural Soap

Directions

  1. 1Throw in 770g of coconut oil to a pot and weigh it with a digital scale.
  2. 2Throw in 85g of cocoa butter.
  3. 3Weigh out your filtered water to add your sodium hydroxide to. Use 240g of filtered water and 120g of sodium hydroxide.
  4. 4Melt the oils and let cool.
  5. 5Add natural indigo powder to this soap and disperse it straight into the oil.
  6. 6Add the water solution to your oils and mix that until it starts to thicken up just a tiny bit.
  7. 7Add in rosemary essential oil. About 30g.
  8. 8Add in 437g of sea salt.
  9. 9Mix the salt completely in the soap.
  10. 10Pour the soap in the mold.
  11. 11Let it sit in the mold for about 2 to 3 hours.
  12. 12Cut your sea salts up.
  13. 13Let it cure for about a month.

Tips

  • Use a digital scale to be as accurate as possible.
  • Make sure to check out the YouTube channel to learn more about soap making.
  • Don't miss your window to cut your sea salts up or it will get too hard and it will start to crumble.
  • There is A LOT more info to soap making. PLEASE do your research on lye safety before attempting to make soap. lye is caustic and can make you go blind. Also, there is lots other bits of helpful information to soapmaking. A short tik tok does not do it justice!
