Hibiscus flower plate

Directions

  1. 1Start by outlining a hibiscus flower shape on a lump of clay using a toothpick.
  2. 2Once the shape is defined, carefully add another piece of clay at the center of the flower.
  3. 3Use your fingers to mold the petals creating a bowl-like structure to make the plate.
  4. 4Make sure the petals are well attached to the body of the plate.
  5. 5Using a toothpick, add texture and shape to the petals and the stamen.
  6. 6Apply the pink paint on all the petals.
  7. 7Add darker shades of pink to the center of each petal to create depth.
  8. 8Use white paint to highlight the petals, adding depth and shine.
  9. 9Use a paint thinner to create more fluid details.
