1In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
2In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and melted butter. Pour the wet ingredients into the well in the dry ingredients, and whisk the batter until it is smooth.
3Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium heat. Lightly grease the surface with cooking spray or oil.
4Ladle the batter onto the skillet, using about 1/4 cup of batter for each pancake. Cook the pancakes until bubbles form on the surface and the edges are cooked, about 2-3 minutes.
5Flip the pancakes and cook until the other side is golden brown, about 1-2 minutes more.
6Serve the pancakes warm, topped with butter and syrup, or your favourite toppings.
