## Ingredients

- sugar
- 2 cups whole milk

## Instructions

1. Put sugar and whole milk in a saucepan.
2. Mix together with a spatula until the sugar is dissolved.
3. Put on gentle low heat and let it come to a gentle simmer.
4. Simmer for 35 to 45 minutes until it dissolves down into condensed milk, stirring pretty often so it doesn't scorch to the bottom.
5. Once your milk has simmered down, it should be completely smooth.
6. Pour the sweetened condensed milk into a half-pint jar, which should yield about one cup.
7. To store, put a lid on the jar and turn it upside down to let it cool off; it should seal within 24 hours.
8. Store in the fridge for up to one week before use.

## Equipment

- saucepan
- spatula
- half pint jar

## Tips

- Store in the fridge for up to one week.
- Turn the jar upside down to cool and seal within 24 hours.
