Oil of Oregano is a staple, it’s one of the first remedies I ever made!

I like to make small batches of it because we don’t reach for it often given how potent it is.

My favorite way to use it is to dilute it, then rub on the bottom of my feet when I’m sick! This was a tip shared with us years ago by our naturopath friend.

Here’s how to make it;

1 part dried organic oregano
2 parts cold pressed oil (I like olive oil)

Combine in a jar and put a lid on it. Next put it in a saucepan with a few inches of water (enough to come to just under the lid!) and simmer lightly for 10-15 minutes.

Allow to cool then set in a windowsill for 4 weeks, shaking every few days.

After 4 weeks, strain and store in a cool dark place.

This is never a replacement for medical care, but it’s a nice complimentary folk medicine.
