## Ingredients

- 1 pound steak
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon fish sauce
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon sambal
- 1 tablespoon liquid seasoning or Maggi
- 1 tablespoon black pepper
- 2 cloves garlic
- 10 cherry tomatoes
- 1 cup white rice
- 1 cucumber
- 1 handful watercress or arugula
- 1 handful pickled red onions

## Instructions

1. Cut the steak into bite-sized pieces.
2. In a bowl, marinate the steak with soy sauce, oyster sauce, fish sauce, sugar, sesame oil, sambal, liquid seasoning, black pepper, and grated garlic. Mix well and let it sit for 30 minutes.
3. Heat up a wok with oil until it is furiously hot.
4. Add the marinated beef to the wok and spread it into a flat layer. DO NOT TOUCH it until it starts to char around the sides.
5. Once the beef is charred, shake the pan aggressively to cook it evenly. This is how it gets its name: shaking beef.
6. Add cherry tomatoes to the wok and continue shaking until the tomatoes blister.
7. Remove the beef and tomatoes from the wok.
8. Serve the beef and tomatoes over a bed of white rice. Add sliced cucumbers and arugula.
9. Garnish with pickled red onions.
