- 2 tbsp butter
- 0.25 cup water
- 0.5 cup sweetened condensed milk mix

## Instructions

1. Combine two tablespoons of butter, a quarter cup of water, and a half cup of the sweetened condensed milk mix.
2. Cook the mixture over a pretty low heat initially, then turn it up slightly once mixed.
3. Let it cook over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally but staying near to ensure it cooks properly.
4. After about five minutes of cooking to the consistency of sweetened condensed milk, you will see a dulce de leche texture, thickness, and color.
5. In about five more minutes, the mixture will transform into caramel.
6. Allow the sugars to caramelize until it reaches a smooth and silky dulce de leche texture and color.
7. Continue to move it around and cook until it is fully caramelized to your desired texture.

## Tips

- Don't rush it.
- Don't crank the heat.
- If you want a pourable caramel sauce, add some heavy cream and stir it down.
