## Ingredients

- 4 cups flour
- 4.5 cups flour
- 2.25 teaspoons fast rising yeast
- 1 packet fast rising yeast
- 2 tablespoons light brown sugar
- 1.5 teaspoons salt
- 0.25 cup oil
- 1.5 cup warm water
- water
- 0.25 cup baking soda
- egg wash
- pretzel sea salt
- coarse sea salt
- melted butter

## Instructions

1. Add 4 to 4 1/2 cups of bread flour, 2 1/4 teaspoons or 1 packet of fast-rising yeast, 2 tablespoons of light brown sugar, and 1 1/2 teaspoons of salt to a bowl.
2. Whisk the dry ingredients to ensure they are spread throughout the flour.
3. Add 1/4 cup of oil and 1 1/2 cups of warm water to the mixture.
4. Stir the ingredients in the bowl until they combine into a rough dough.
5. Turn the dough out onto a clean surface.
6. Gather all the dough together and start kneading it until all the dry flour is incorporated.
7. Once you're tired of kneading the dough (even if it's not completely smooth yet), spray the bowl with oil and place the dough inside.
8. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let the dough rise until it doubles in size, which should take about an hour.
9. Once the dough has proofed, turn it out onto a clean surface.
10. Preheat your oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit.
11. Take your pizza cutter and cut a piece of dough off the side.
12. Roll the piece of dough into a long strand.
13. To form the pretzel shape, set the middle of the dough strand down, cross the ends, and then cross them again, sticking the little ends down.
14. Get a shallow dish and pour some water in, then sprinkle in about a quarter of a cup of baking soda.
15. Dip both sides of the pretzel into the baking soda water.
16. Place the dipped pretzel onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
17. Brush all your pretzels with an egg wash.
18. Sprinkle the pretzels with pretzel sea salt or coarse sea salt.
19. Place the baking sheet into your 450-degree oven for 10 minutes.
20. Remove the pretzels from the oven when they are golden brown.
21. Optionally, brush the finished pretzel with some melted butter for added flavor.

- You can brush the pretzels with melted butter after baking them to make them taste more like Auntie Anne's pretzels
