## Ingredients

- 3 ripe bananas
- 9 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 large egg, room temp
- 0.75 cup brown sugar
- 0.25 cup white sugar
- 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 0.5 tsp baking powder
- 0.5 tsp salt
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp vanilla extract or paste
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1.5 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

## Instructions

1. Add butter to a saucepan over medium heat and stir often until it melts, foams, sizzles, then turns golden with a nutty smell.
2. Once browned, pour into a bowl and place in the freezer for 5 minutes; you want it warm, not hot.
3. In a large bowl, mash bananas until mostly smooth.
4. Add 1/2 cup of the browned butter, brown sugar, white sugar, egg, and vanilla.
5. Whisk for 1 to 2 minutes until glossy.
6. Add flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon, mixing very thoroughly so everything is evenly distributed.
7. Preheat oven to 350°F / 175°C.
8. Once no dry flour remains, fold in about 1 cup of chocolate chips, saving the rest for topping.
9. Line or grease a loaf pan and pour in the batter.
10. Sprinkle remaining chocolate chips on top.
11. Bake for 60 minutes, loosely covering with foil halfway through to prevent over-browning.
12. Insert a toothpick into the center; it should come out with a few moist crumbs, not wet batter.
13. If needed, bake an extra 5 to 10 minutes.
14. Let cool slightly, then slice and enjoy.
