## Ingredients

- 1 onion
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 pinch baking soda
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1 nob butter
- 2 drops soy sauce

## Instructions

1. Slice the onion into thin slices. The thinner the slices, the faster it cooks.
2. Turn on the stove top to high heat. Add oil to the pot.
3. Add the onions and a pinch of salt to the pot.
4. Add a pinch of baking soda to the pot. This helps break down the onions faster and releases all the sweet sugars.
5. Wait until the bottom starts to burn. Add a few drops of water to deglaze the pot.
6. Repeat until the bottom of the pot is golden brown, deglazing each time with water. You don't have to stir; simply wait.
7. Add a nob of butter.
8. Add a few drops of soy sauce.
