# Water Pie

A depression-era style water pie that mimics an apple pie flavor despite having no apples.

## Ingredients

- 1 whole pie crust
- 1.5 cup water
- 0.5 whole lemon juice
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup sugar
- 0.25 cup all-purpose flour
- 5 tbsp butter
- 1 pinch cinnamon (optional)

## Instructions

1. Pour water into the pie crust.
2. Add the lemon juice.
3. Add the vanilla extract.
4. Mix sugar and flour together, then sprinkle the mixture evenly over the pie; do not stir.
5. Top with pieces of butter and a sprinkling of cinnamon.
6. Bake at 400°F for 30 minutes.
7. Reduce the heat to 375°F and bake for another 30 minutes.
8. Let cool and refrigerate before cutting.
