## Ingredients

- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1.5 teaspoons salt
- 0.5 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup water
- 1 stick unsalted butter

## Instructions

1. In a large bowl, add 3 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 ½ teaspoons of salt, and ½ teaspoon of baking powder. Whisk all dry ingredients together until well combined.
2. Heat up 1 cup of water and melt in 1 stick of unsalted butter.
3. Slowly add the water-butter mixture to the flour, mixing until it becomes crumbly like wet sand. Add the rest of your water and continue mixing until a dough forms. Knead for about 10 minutes until smooth and not sticking to the bowl.
4. Leave the dough in the bowl, cover with damp paper towels, and let it rest for 10-15 minutes.
5. Lightly flour a flat surface, place your ball of dough, and cut it into 8 equal pieces.
6. Form each piece into a ball, tucking the dough to the bottom until the top looks smooth.
7. Cover the dough balls with damp paper towels to prevent a crust from forming.
8. Roll out each dough ball into a thin circle, rotating the tortilla to roll all sides evenly. Use your hands to stretch out funky edges if needed.
9. Place the tortilla on a preheated, hot comal or griddle (medium heat).
10. Flip the tortilla once bubbles start forming and again when the second side starts to puff up. Use a spatula to press and help it puff up.
