# DIY Bioplastic Suncatchers

Create beautiful bioplastic suncatchers with natural ingredients and colors to brighten your home.

- Language: en

## Ingredients

- 0.5 cup water
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon white vinegar
- 1 tablespoon unflavored gelatin powder
- Natural or food-safe colorants
- fine glitter
- dried flower petals
- small bits of tissue paper

## Instructions

1. In a small saucepan, mix together the water, cornstarch, vinegar, and gelatin. Stir well until everything is smooth and clump-free.
2. Place the pan over low to medium heat, stirring continuously until the mixture thickens into a glossy, gooey gel, about 3–5 minutes. Remove it from the heat.
3. Pour the colored mixtures onto your non-stick surface, spreading them into thin, even layers.
4. Once dry and slightly flexible, carefully peel each suncatcher off and punch a hole at the top.
5. Thread string through the hole and hang them in a sunny spot where they'll catch the light beautifully.

## Equipment

- small saucepan
- non-stick surface
- Hole punch
- String
- suction hook
- bowls
- toothpicks

## Tips

- If you’d like to use multiple colors, divide the warm mixture into several bowls and add your natural dyes. Stir until fully blended.
- Let your creativity shine—use toothpicks to swirl patterns, or gently press in petals or sprinkle on glitter for that extra touch!
- Leave the suncatchers to air dry for 24–48 hours. If they're thicker, you might flip them halfway through drying to help them firm up on both sides.
