## Ingredients

- 2 cups diced apples (peeled)
- 0.33 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 0.5 cup butter, softened
- 0.75 cup sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1.5 tsp vanilla extract
- 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
- 1.75 tsp baking powder
- 0.5 cup milk
- 0.5 cup powdered sugar
- 1 -2 tbsp milk
- 0.5 tsp vanilla extract

## Instructions

1. In a bowl, toss diced apples with brown sugar and cinnamon. Set aside so the flavors soften and mingle.
2. Beat butter and sugar until pale and fluffy.
3. Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla, mixing gently until smooth.
4. Whisk flour and baking powder together.
5. Add to the batter alternately with milk, stirring just until combined. The batter should be thick and soft.
6. Pour half the batter into a greased loaf pan.
7. Spoon half the apple mixture over the top.
8. Add remaining batter, then finish with the rest of the apples.
9. Use a knife to gently swirl through the layers, creating soft ribbons without overmixing.
10. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 50–60 minutes, until a toothpick comes out mostly clean and the top is golden and fragrant.
11. Let the loaf cool slightly.
12. Whisk glaze ingredients and drizzle slowly over the warm bread so it settles into the crumb.
