## Ingredients

- 1 cup warm whole milk
- 2.25 tsp instant yeast
- 2 Tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 0.25 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 tsp salt
- 3 cups bread flour
- 4 Tbsp melted butter
- 1.5 Tbsp honey

## Instructions

1. Warm the milk and whisk it with 1 tablespoon of sugar and the yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until it looks foamy on top. Ensure milk is 110°F.
2. Add the remaining sugar, egg, softened butter, salt, and 1 cup of flour. Mix with a stand mixer using the paddle attachment, then add the rest of the flour and mix until combined.
3. Switch to a dough hook and knead for 5-8 minutes. The dough should be soft, slightly sticky, but still easy to handle. It's ready when it bounces back after being poked.
4. Add a little oil to a bowl, place the dough in it, and turn to coat. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 1.5-2 hours, or until doubled in size.
5. Punch down the dough, divide into 14-16 pieces, and shape each piece into a smooth ball.
6. Arrange in a baking dish, cover, and let them get puffy for about 1 hour.
7. Brush with egg wash and bake at 350°F for 20-25 minutes, until golden on top.
8. While they’re warm, brush with honey butter and enjoy.
