# Homemade Caramel

A silky, rich, homemade caramel sauce perfect for drizzling over desserts.

## Ingredients

- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 6 tbsp unsalted butter, room temp
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 tsp sea salt

## Instructions

1. Place the sugar in a small saucepan over low heat.
2. Cook the sugar for 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally with a silicone spatula until it melts into an amber liquid.
3. Remove the pan from the heat and add the room temperature butter, stirring until fully melted.
4. Pour in the heavy cream and stir until combined. If the mixture is not coming together, return it to the stove for 30 seconds while stirring.
5. Stir in the sea salt.
6. Let the caramel cool for 30 minutes until it thickens.
7. Pour into a container and store in the fridge.
