## Equipment

- pot
- tongs
- knife
- cutting board
- bowl
- measuring cups
- wooden spoon
- strainer
- baking dish
- aluminum foil

## Tips

- Do not cook the sweet potatoes all the way through when boiling them.
- Use real maple syrup for maple flavor.
- The citrus juices (orange and lemon) will balance out the sweetness from the sugar and maple syrup, allowing the flavors from the spices to come through.
- Baste the yams with the sauce once they are fully cooked to allow the sauce to caramelize onto them.
