# Stovetop Popcorn

Crispy stovetop popcorn cooked in a shallow pan with high smoke point oil and topped with melted butter.

## Ingredients

- 1/2 cup popcorn kernels
- 2 tablespoons high smoke point oil
- 7 tablespoons melted butter
- fine unrefined sea salt (optional)

## Instructions

1. Measure out 2 tablespoons of oil into your pan, turn the heat to high, and add two kernels of popcorn.
2. Put the lid on the pot and wait for those two kernels to pop.
3. Once they pop, remove the pot from the heat and fish out those two popped kernels.
4. Pour in the remaining 1/2 cup of unpopped kernels.
5. Put the lid back on and give the pan a hearty shake.
6. Let it sit for one minute.
7. Put the pan back on the stove, turn the heat to high, and shake the pan now and then to ensure even heating.
8. When the popping slows to a near standstill, remove the pot from the heat and let it sit for a moment.
9. Pour the popcorn into a large serving bowl.
10. Slowly drizzle the melted butter over the popcorn in a circular motion, then toss the popcorn with a spatula to distribute.
11. Sprinkle with salt to taste and toss well between sprinkles.
