## Tips

- Geranium is known to repel ticks.
- Lavender, Lemon Eucalyptus, and Basil repel other bugs like mosquitos and gnats.
- Using a high proof alcohol extends the shelf life by acting as a preservative.
- Rubbing alcohol is not a good choice as it is harmful to breathe in.
- Witch hazel is not a true preservative.
- Always test patch skin first.
- Spray on everywhere but especially your hat, ankles, backpack and shoes.
- This recipe is not kid friendly and check with your doctor if pregnant or nursing.
- For a kid-friendly version, consider 4 drops each of Lavender and Geranium in an 8-ounce recipe.
- Essential oils are strong, so err on the side of caution especially with children.
- Everclear is a good choice for grain alcohol.
- Label the bottle after preparing the spray.
- Enjoy!
