## Ingredients

- 0.66 cup melted and cooled butter
- 0.66 cup brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 egg
- 1 cup flour
- 4 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 2 cups shredded coconut
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 0.25 cup softened butter
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 3 tablespoons milk
- 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
- splash vanilla extract

## Instructions

1. Combine 2/3 cup of melted and cooled butter, 2/3 cup of brown sugar, 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract, and 1 egg together.
2. Whisk 4 tablespoons of cocoa powder into 1 cup of flour.
3. Add the flour mixture to your wet ingredients and combine.
4. Transfer the mixture to the bottom of an 8x8 prepared pan.
5. Press the crust firmly into the bottom, making sure it extends to reach all the corners.
6. Combine 2 cups of shredded coconut, 1 can of sweetened condensed milk, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
7. Once combined, get that second layer on top of the crust.
8. Spread this around and make sure all of the crust is covered.
9. Bake in the oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 minutes.
10. Let them fully cool in their pan on a wire cooling rack.
11. For the frosting, combine 1/4 cup of softened butter, 2 cups of powdered sugar, 3 tablespoons of milk, 3 tablespoons of cocoa powder, and a healthy splash of vanilla extract.
12. Mix well, keeping milk nearby in case you need to add an extra teaspoon or two.
13. Scrape the bowl down well, as this is meant to be a very thick, stiff frosting.
14. Make sure the base is entirely cool, then spread the frosting on top.
15. Chill in the fridge for at least an hour before cutting.
16. Remove the squares from the pan using the parchment paper.
17. Cut the cooled squares into individual servings.
