2. Add melted butter.
3. Mix the ingredients together.
4. Add two whole eggs and three egg yolks for extra richness.
5. Add the dry ingredients.
6. In this walnut chocolate chip cookie, I'm using a mix of 70% dark chocolate and milk chocolate for sweetness.
7. Mix until everything comes together.
8. When you form the cookie balls, just gently bring it together so that it stays light and airy and don't smooth the edges.
9. Cover and chill for at least 4 hours so that the flavors can come together.
10. Bake at 400 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes.
11. Let the cookies rest for at least 15 minutes so that they can set.

## Equipment

- stand mixer
- baking sheet
- parchment paper
- oven

## Tips

- Adding melted butter instead of solid butter helps the sugars to dissolve.
- Gently bring the cookie balls together so that it stays light and airy.
- Do not smooth the edges of the cookie balls.
- The edges provide extra surface area so that the cookies can get crispy while baking.
- Cover and chill for at least 4 hours so that the flavors can come together.
- If you don like dark chocolate chips, you can raise the milk chocolate ratio or just use semi-sweet entirely.
- Bake these fresh at your friend's birthday party and they were a smash hit!
