## Ingredients

- 3.5 cups all-purpose flour or bread flour
- 3 teaspoons brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons sea salt
- 1.75 cups hot water
- 3 heaping teaspoons rapid rise active yeast
- 2 teaspoons granulated sugar

## Instructions

1. Add 3 1/2 cups of flour (all-purpose or bread flour) into a bowl.
2. Add 3 teaspoons of brown sugar into the flour.
3. Add 2 to 3 teaspoons of sea salt to the flour.
4. Mix the dry ingredients together with a whisk to ensure they're not in one lump when water is added.
5. Add 3 heaping teaspoons of rapid rise active yeast to 1 3/4 cups of hot water.
6. Add 2 teaspoons of granulated sugar to the yeast and water mixture.
7. Stir the yeast and sugar mixture until all the sugar is dissolved, then let it sit for a couple of minutes.
8. Pour the yeast water into the flour mixture and mix it with the handle of a wooden spoon until a wet, sticky dough forms.
9. Cover the dough with a dishcloth and let it sit on the counter for 1 1/2 hours, or in an oven that is off.
10. Flour your surface really well so the sticky dough can be easily managed.
11. Scrape the dough out onto the floured surface.
12. Flour the top of the dough.
13. Use a scraper tool to fold the dough over four or five times until it forms a round ball.
14. Cut the dough roughly in half with the scraper tool to make two loaves.
15. Roll and stretch each half of the dough into a loaf, twisting it two or three times.
16. Load the loaves into a baguette tray.
17. Take a very sharp knife or razor blade and score the loaves a few times.
18. Bake the baguettes in the oven at 475 degrees Fahrenheit for 22 to 25 minutes, reducing the heat to 450 degrees Fahrenheit halfway through.
19. Remove the baguettes from the oven when they are golden brown.
20. Slice the warm baguette and spread with butter.
