## Tips

- For a Baño María flan in the oven: preheat your oven and place a tray with water to generate steam. Introduce the flan mold either partially submerged in the water (covering a couple of fingers of its base, centered in the oven) or place the water tray at the base and your mold on the rack. Bake at 180-200ºC with top and bottom heat for approximately 1 hour.
- To check if they are ready, you can prick them with a toothpick; if it comes out clean, the flan is set, otherwise, leave it for a few more minutes at the same temperature and speed.
- Flans should be eaten moderately cold, so let them cool to room temperature before putting them in the fridge.
- How does it turn out better, steamed or baked?: I made 2 flans. Both taste the same but the one made in the oven is more golden and appetizing. I prefer the second option.
- Flavor your flan to make it different: the one you see in the photo is flavored with lime zest. Make your own adjustments.
- Special diets: suitable for ovo-lacto-vegetarian and celiac diets (celiacs must use gluten-free caramel like Mandarín). Change sugar for sweetener to reduce calories. Always check that ingredients are suitable and safe for consumption for allergies and intolerances.
- For individual molds, less cooking time is needed to prevent overcooking.
- To avoid holes in the flan, cook it slowly and prevent it from boiling.
- When using Thermomix, cover the flan mold with a plate upside down instead of aluminum and kitchen paper to save resources, as the Thermomix's steam system cleans itself.
