# Bacon In A Blanket

A twist on pigs in a blanket using thick-cut bacon, whipped chive cream cheese, and a sweet-savory maple pepper glaze.

## Ingredients

- thick-cut bacon, cut in half
- crescent rolls
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- generous amount cracked black pepper
- cayenne (optional)
- whipped chive cream cheese

## Instructions

1. Cut the bacon strips in half.
2. Lay the bacon on a parchment-lined cookie sheet with a cooling rack on top.
3. Bake the bacon in the oven at 375°F until partially cooked but still bendable.
4. Remove bacon from the oven, dab with a paper towel, and let rest.
5. Melt the butter, then mix in the maple syrup, a sprinkle of cayenne, and a generous amount of cracked black pepper.
6. Roll out and separate the crescent rolls, then cut each triangle in half lengthwise.
7. Spread a light layer of whipped chive cream cheese on the dough.
8. Place a piece of bacon on top of the cream cheese and brush with the maple-butter mixture.
9. Roll up the crescent rolls and place them on a parchment-lined cookie sheet.
10. Brush the tops of the rolls with the remaining maple-butter mixture.
11. Bake at 375°F until the tops are golden brown.
12. Remove from the oven and let cool on the pan.
