## Ingredients

- 1 cup whole milk
- 2.25 teaspoons instant yeast
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 0.25 cup salted butter
- 0.5 teaspoon salt
- 3.5 cups all purpose flour

## Instructions

1. To prepare the dough, mix the warm milk, yeast, and sugar together in a large mixing bowl.
2. Whisk the milk, sugar and yeast together really well to activate the yeast.
3. Cover up the bowl and let it rest for 5 minutes.
4. Once the yeast has bloomed, add the melted butter and the large egg.
5. Whisk that together really well.
6. Start adding the flour, one cup at a time, stirring after each addition.
7. Add half a teaspoon of salt.
8. Once you finish adding the flour, turn the dough out onto a clean counter.
9. Knead for 5 minutes by turning, folding, and repeating.
10. Lightly grease a large bowl with oil.
11. Place the dough into the bowl, cover it, and let it rise for 1 to 2 hours or until it’s at least doubled in size.
12. Press the dough down to deflate it and then turn it out onto your counter again.
13. Gently press it out until it’s an even thickness.
14. Portion out 12 equal-sized pieces of dough using a bench scraper, kitchen scale, or regular knife.
15. Shape each piece into a little ball by rolling it on the countertop under your palm.
16. Space the rolls out as evenly as possible in a 9x13 inch baking pan.
17. Cover and let them rise again until doubled in size, usually about 45 minutes.
18. Preheat oven to 350°F.
19. Bake for about 20 minutes until the tops are golden brown.
20. Brush the top of each roll with melted butter.
