## Ingredients

- 1 cup warm water
- 0.5 cup warm milk
- 1 tablespoon yeast
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 3 tablespoons melted butter
- 1.5 teaspoon salt
- 3.25 cups bread flour
- 1 tablespoon non-fat dry milk powder
- avocado oil
- 1 egg
- splash water
- butter

## Instructions

1. Add 1 cup of warm water and 1/2 cup of warm milk to a large bowl.
2. Add 1 tablespoon of fast-rise yeast to the bowl.
3. Add 2 tablespoons of honey.
4. Mix the ingredients and let them sit for 5 to 10 minutes until the mixture gets frothy.
5. Add 3 tablespoons of warm, melted butter to the frothy yeast mixture.
6. Add 1 1/2 teaspoons of salt.
7. Start with 2 cups of bread flour and add it to the mixture.
8. Add 1 tablespoon of non-fat dry milk powder (optional).
9. Mix all the ingredients together to combine.
10. Add half of a 1/3 cup of bread flour to the mixture.
11. Once a shaggy dough is formed, sprinkle a silicone mat with the remaining flour.
12. Place the dough onto the mat and sprinkle the top with flour.
13. Knead the dough for 5 to 8 minutes, incorporating the rest of the 1/3 cup of flour while kneading.
14. Clean the bowl with hot water to create a warm environment for the dough to rise.
15. Spread some avocado oil into the clean bowl.
16. Add the kneaded dough to the bowl.
17. Cover the bowl with a lid and let it rest for about an hour to an hour and a half until it doubles in size.
18. Flip the doubled dough out onto the mat.
19. Divide the dough into four large sub rolls.
20. Form each piece of dough into a rectangle, then roll it up, tuck in the sides, push the bottom down, and roll a couple of times to shape the sub roll.
21. Place the formed sub rolls on a parchment-lined cookie sheet.
22. Cover the rolls with plastic wrap.
23. Cover the plastic wrap with a clean towel and let the rolls rest for about 30-45 minutes until they puff up a little.
24. Make an egg wash by mixing one egg with a splash of water.
25. Brush the sub rolls with the egg wash.
26. Take a razor blade or sharp knife and make a score right down the middle of each roll.
27. Bake the sub rolls at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for about 20-22 minutes, or until golden brown.
28. Once baked, optionally top the rolls with a little butter.
29. Let the sub rolls cool.
30. Slice a cooled sub roll and make a sandwich.
31. Wrap the sandwich in parchment paper.
