# Garlic parmesan orzo with seared steak

Creamy, buttery orzo paired with a juicy seared NY strip steak.

## Ingredients

- 2 whole ny strip steak
- to taste salt
- to taste pepper
- to taste kinder steak seasoning blend
- 3 tbsp butter, softened
- 1 whole shallot, minced
- 4 clove garlic, minced
- 1 clove garlic, crushed
- 1 lb orzo
- 2 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, grated
- parsley (optional)

## Instructions

1. Season steaks generously with salt, pepper, and steak seasoning.
2. Sear steaks in a hot skillet 4 minutes per side for medium. In the last 2 minutes, add butter and crushed garlic and baste. Remove and let rest.
3. In the same pan, melt remaining butter and sauté shallot and minced garlic until fragrant (about 2 minutes).
4. Add orzo and toast for 1 minute.
5. Pour in chicken broth, bring to a boil, then reduce heat, cover, and simmer ~10 minutes, stirring halfway through. Add more broth if needed until orzo is tender.
6. Stir in heavy cream and parmesan until creamy and smooth. Adjust salt and pepper to taste.
7. Slice steak and return it with all pan juices back into the pan. Top with parsley and serve.
